Our tour guide, Adrin Foo was very informative and engaging. As a first timer to Pulau Ubin, we get to learn a lot about the life there. Adrin was not only knowledgable about the history of the island but also vast knowledge of plants, marine and mangrove habitats. It was a really enjoyable Saturday morning. We were also lucky to get to see the monkeys and the wild boars during our walk!

I joined Origin True Blue tour with a group of friends quite recently. We were led by a young but very experienced tour guide, Augustine. He conducted the tour professionally, was on time at the meeting point. He displayed good knowledge of the Peranakan culture, gave excellent narration of the historical background of the buildings and shop houses. We were awed by the exquisite architecture of Peranakan influence. We were also introduced to few beautiful murals done by famous painter, Yip Yew Chong. They are truly amazing artworks which deserve our admiration. The whole tour was relaxing and went on leisurely pace, good for the senior citizens in our group. We were surprised to know that the first Botanical Garden was located at Armenian Street. The tour ended well with authentic Peranakan Laksa for lunch. We were given some insight of the Peranakan cuisine by the restaurant owner of True Blue Pantry. We have enjoyed the tour very much and certainly look forward to joining their other tours. It is a good way to know Singapore better, gain better knowledge of the different ethnic groups and its culture. Most of all, we had a wonderful time of bonding with our friends. Many thumbs up to Origin Journey!

This experience was a real treat for my sister and I. We got to discover and rediscover our Pernankan culture, through Adeline, our cheerful, caring, knowledgeable and energetic guide. She used Hoikken, Mandarin and Malay words to bring conversations alive. About 5,600 steps, which was very manageable for us. Tour included sightseeing, shopping and food. Loved it!

Having just enjoyed a unique and fun time at the Rasa Sayang Roti Prata Workshop (recommended by and booked through Origin Journeys), I couldn't wait to share our experience and would highly recommend it. My 2 sons, aged 10 and 13, along with my husband and I were taught the art of Roti Prata making. We were shown how to knead, flip and turn the dough and how to make plain, savoury, sweet and coin pratas. It seemed so simple, but, when it came our turn to try, it wasn't as easy as it looked! We had many laughs and under the patient tutelage of our expert teacher, we improved with each attempt. We then had a choice of an abundance of fillings to make our own unique pratas. My husband and I played safe, whilst the boys created some very unique pratas. We each made 4 pratas which were cooked for us and which we ate and enjoyed along with a choice of drink. We had so much fun on this workshop, and I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone of any age. We can't wait to book again and both the boys are keen to have another lesson, this time with their friends. Don't hold back, it's excellent value and a great experience.

The Chinatown Heritage Tour was not just an ordinary Chinatown tour, it was fun, enriching and educational for both children and adults. The 3-hour duration was just nice and well planned from beginning to end. The walk was a very relaxing morning stroll throughout the journey and the weather was on our side. Glad to have a competent guide like Natalie as she was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I learnt so much about the history and diverse cultures of Chinatown and Singapore from her. Besides historic sites such as oldest temple and oldest clan, the long stretch of wall mural along Amoy Street grabbed my attention. The paintings by the famous Singapore street artist, Yip Yew Chong, were a feast to the eyes. They instantly transported me back to the old Singapore as the guide shared the stories of history. There were more street paintings as we continued the trip. The final itinerary at Nanyang Old Coffee was a perfect place to chill out at the end of the tour. The workshop on how to make coffee traditionally was very fun. I literally made a cup of “kopi c siew dai” with my own hands. My mum loved the taste and aroma. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. For those have not been to a heritage tour, why not give this tour a go? Hope you will enjoy and benefit as much as I did! :))
